Dr. Mohyuddin Mirza

Scientific Advisor
Dr. Mirza is an accomplished and visionary scientist whose practical research has invaluably impacted the greenhouse industry in Alberta. Recognized as a pioneer in introducing hydroponics production to greenhouse crops, for almost 30 years this educator, mentor, researcher, writer and problem solver had played a pivotal role in building the greenhouse industry from a $25 million a year in 1980 to over $160 million in 2014. Dr. Mirza receives numerous awards and accolades during his decades of work within Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development. As a founding member of the Alberta Greenhouse Growers Association and adjunct professor at the University of Alberta, Dr. Mirza has been credited with inspiring new entrants into the industry. In the 1980’s he helped introduced soilless crop production; an innovation that helped built the industry. Many say Dr. Mirza is best known as a friend to growers. Always reachable, he constantly provided time to teach and share with growers. According to one former student who was inspired by Dr. Mirza to start his own greenhouse business, “helping others succeed is their passion.”

Harvey Panesar brings nearly two decades of corporate finance, public company management and venture enhancement expertise to the team. Mr. Panesar’s focus and passion are to redefine vertical integration from seed to retail, supply chain control, patented formulations and superior bioavailability in all nutraceutical products, agri-business and pharmaceutical opportunities for Emergence around the globe.

Mr. Byrne is a successful, resourceful, results-driven lawyer, farmer and author with a diverse career and with over 30+ years of experience in the political and private sector.

Mr. Rick Purdy, age 46, has been President of J-CAL Investments, an Alberta-based investment corporation that has developed and grown multiple companies from concept to commercialization. Rick is also involved with real estate development, oil and gas environmental technologies, and nutraceutical natural health products. He founded Canada’s most prominent and first commercial-scale indoor aquaponic vertical farm over 12 years ago outside of Edmonton, Alberta. Rick’s extensive experience in agriculture and market development will bring tremendous knowledge and leadership to Emergence Global Enterprises Inc.

Alex Tarrabain is an experienced Senior Partner with a demonstrated history of working in the accounting industry. Skilled in Budgeting, Business Planning, Accounting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Team Building. Strong entrepreneurship professional with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) focused in Accounting and Finance from the University of Alberta. Alex is a frequent speaker at financial functions and has served on many boards, including:
Prostate Canada, NW Zone Hockey Association, Whitemud West Hockey Association and the Canadian Athletic Club in Edmonton.

Christian J. Gallant has years of experience in Corporate Finance and Entrepreneurship. He is a board member of the Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare.

Cameron Canzellarini has over 10 years of experience in Management of private companies and also many years of experience in the Food Industry.
